"I can wholeheartedly say that working with Chelsea was the best decision I made in a long time. I have dealt with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and lack of self-worth all which manifested in disordered eating and compulsive behavior. Trapped in a vicious cycle, I honestly felt that I would forever deal with restriction, bingeing, and purging. I could not see a life outside of my shame and finding the next best diet. "I've struggled with weight nearly all my life. Or at least it's felt this way. At 41, after two pregnancies with gestational diabetes I found myself feeling like a slug. "Working with Chelsea was one of the best decisions I have made this year! Leading up to our sessions, I experienced symptoms of chronic digestive issues for the past few years. I was constantly doing the “trial and error” method and dealing with anxiety when planning a meal or even when I was eating because I did not know how my stomach was going to react. When we first began, Chelsea analyzed my daily meals and discovered an eating pattern that I did not realize was affecting my body. Her goal was to remove bread and grains since I was relying on those food groups for the majority of my meals. I saw a dramatic difference in how I was feeling within the next week or two and I know it was a result of eliminating bread and grains. Not only did she suggest eliminating the grains, but she also gave me the “why” behind removing these food groups and the science behind it. I felt extremely empowered because I understood why these food groups might be causing a reaction. She also helped me incorporate foods that were healthy, nutritious, and filling in order to make up for the bread and grains that I was eliminating. There were definitely some bumps in the road and I am still on the road to recovery, but Chelsea made me feel like I was not alone and was always available with such kind words. It is one thing to work with someone who will tell you how to change your diet, but it is another to work with someone who also brings such dedication and compassion to their work.
